Hi my name is Sally-Ann Remnant and I am currently a freelance Consultant nurse in epilepsy for Epilepsy Explained and previous to this at Guys & St Thomas & Kings College hospital in London. My experience and background is in general epilepsy and learning disability care. I hold a Clinical education qualification (ENB 998 and previous NVQ Assessor)

 

I specialised in Epilepsy in 1997. Originally as the care coordinator of the Meath Epilepsy charity in Godalming, Surrey and as an honorary nurse specialist for the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford and for East Surrey hospital in Redhill. In 2005 I joined Surrey PCT as community clinical nurse specialist supporting the needs of patients with chronic epilepsy in the area. In 2009 I began my amazing role as Advanced nurse practitioner at St. Thomas hospital running specialist clinics for people with and without Learning disabilities, teenagers and mums to be. 


I have a Honours Degree (BSc) in epilepsy care and I am an independent nurse prescriber (IMP). I have achieved a medical based (MSc) masters degree in epileptology for which I received a distinction and a special achievement Bateman award for my research in constipation and seizures. ILAE poster award in Prague 2017.  I currently work in Brighton with the amazing Epilepsy team.
